Death
As I said, even in the fantasy realm everyone should die. ONLY ONCE did I see someone who "legally could not die." But even he had his price to pay. When
someone "killed" him, he became that person’s slave till either his master or him was killed. (Please note
this doesn't work for everyone and I, the creator of this page, do not want to see this type of thing spring
up with every character). Be imaginative if your character can't die, if they can't physically die then what happens
to them when they loose a match where they should have died?
People like description when fighting, or when their character is about to be killed. Because of this, most people like to have the attack over 5 words long. They believe you can't describe your attack in anything less than 5 words.
Going along with the previous paragraph, people like to have you do 5 lines of preps when killing someone with magic. Each prep should be 5 words long. Again, this is because people don't think you can describe enough in anything less. Though it is up to the controller to deside how many preps it should be. It all depends on the character's stength in what magic they are using.
For any death you should have two witnesses and/or a transcript, but it all depends upon the realm that you RP in. I just suggest two witnesses in case of an arguement over the death of the character. If people are there to see it, no longer is it just I say, s/he say. If the controller of the departed admitts it was a kill, all the better.
Take death seriously. Don't have your character think, "Oh.. he'll be back so I don't have to morn." Remember your character's friend, husband, child, other family member(s) just died. Your character doesn't know if they'll come back or not. Let them be sad, mad, angry.
Ressurection
Ressing for anyone is a difficult job. The difficulty of the resurrection
depends on how the character was killed, what condition the body is in,
condition of their soul, and how long they have been dead. The longer
they have been dead, the harder it is to ress them. If the body is in
ashes or chopped up, you most likely have to find a new body that is
willing to let a new soul into their body. If the soul was taken, you
can not resurrect them at all. If a person is hit by balefire, you can
not be brought back. However most of these spells and abilities are
very rare and difficult to use or gain. A character can only be
resurrected so many times and those resurrections are only if the dead
character’s controller wants them to be resurrected.
Not every character, not even every mage, can resurrect someone. Being able to resurrect someone takes a lot of control, power, knowing and understanding the balance of nature and man. As well as knowing who can and can not be resurrected. There are people out there who can resurrect people, you just have to find out who they are while you are in character. The harder it is to resurrect someone, the stronger the mage/wizard has to be.
It's called bad Role-Play if you go out of character and find someone to ress your character and do it all in 5 mins. This is called role-playing. If you want to bring that character back, let someone who controls one of your dead character's friends know and role-play it out. Might either help a plot or begin one if people get into it. I know one person who wanted a character back, she sent a character who knew her's a dream for months/weeks haunting him.. telling him to bring her back. Man, the guy frecked and the controllers had some fun. That's just an idea...
Now just because you can be ressurected doesn't mean you can take death so lightly. Protect your ressurections like it is your last one, and in protecting your ressurections don't go out and try to be killed.. that is, unless it's a plot line, or your character's wishes.
